Meet Negin Akbarin, O.D.
Eye Boutique is excited to introduce Dr. Negin Akbarin! She is ecstatic to be joining our team and can’t wait to tend to all of your optical needs! Dr. A is a graduate of University of Houston College of Optometry and has been practicing for 4 years. She specializes in ocular disease, specialty contact lenses, glaucoma management as well as cataract and LASIK co-management.
In her spare time Dr. A enjoys exploring local coffee shops, listening to live music, and has recently joined a kitten animal rescue group! She is excited to be serving the Houston Heights community and can’t wait to meet you!
Meet Brandon Moderhack, O.D.
Dr. Brandon Moderhack is a passionate eye doctor optometrist who is committed to providing his patients with the finest care in Houston.
- Experienced Optometrist: Dr. Moderhack completed a residency at the Eye Center of Texas in 2015. During his residency, he treated a large variety of ocular disease and surgery co-management patients.
- Focus on Continuing Education: Dr. Moderhack believes in staying up-to-date on the latest research and studies to provide the best care to his patients.
- Membership in Professional Organizations: Dr. Moderhack is a member of both the American Optometric Association and the Texas Optometric Association.

Meet Christopher Mathews, O.D.
Dr. Chris Mathews has dreamt of becoming an optometrist since he was a young boy of 17 years old. After completing his degree in Biological Sciences at Purdue University, he set out from his home state of Indiana to pursue that dream at the University of Houston College of Optometry (Go Coogs!). Dr. Mathews graduated at the top of his class in 2018 and found his home here in the Mont Belvieu/Baytown area.
Throughout his schooling, he participated in intensive clinical rotations focused on corneal disease, specialty contact lens fitting, and dry eye disease. Dr. Mathews is a firm believer in lifelong learning and constantly stays up-to-date on the latest research in optometry. This dedication allows Dr. Mathews to personalize treatment plans to specifically address the needs of each of his patients.
When Dr. Mathews is away from the office, he enjoys live music, exploring new restaurants, and outdoor activities such as hiking, biking, and sports.
